Using MacJournal to Organise A Course

I use MacJournal for a range of tasks. One of them is the organisation of my course structure. I can use the linking function to link in other journals and external files so that I can actually run a lecture from within MacJournal.

Here is an example from my flight mechanics course.

I try and organise the course through a “master timetable”.  It looks like this:

Say I’m about to start week 5 of the semester.  I can then click on the Lecture topic “Stick-fixed Longitudinal Motion” and this reveals my lesson plan:

where I can review what I want to teach, objectives and examples I want to give.  Once I do this, I can go to my Keynote lecture by clicking on “Notes”, which opens the finder window where my Keynote presentation is.  I also have a link to take me back to the Timetable.

I have found the use of the linking tool very handy.  I also have links to Assignments, videos.  Next improvement will be to link other assessment, and maybe a method to build an exam.  Stay tuned.
